The Force Awakens – Time to celebrate!

Fans have been awaiting 10 years for the next Star Wars movie, though ask any die-hard fan and they’ll tell you the wait has been more like 32 years since the prequels don’t count.  With The Force Awakens crushing all box office records ($247 million domestic and counting) the folks at Disney, LucasFilm, and Bad Robot have reason to celebrate.  If you were lucky enough to witness the rekindled magic on the big screen it’s time to raise a glass with one of these cocktails inspired from a long time ago….

 

 

BB8 Bellini

BB8 Bellini

The BB-8 Bellini 

Like the plucky droid, everyone will be after this delicious cocktail

 

  • 4 oz chilled Prosecco DOC
  • 1oz blood orange
  • 1 oz white peach puree

Pour the blood orange and white peach puree into a chilled flute and top with Prosecco DOC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kylo RentiniKylo Ren-tini 

 

Bitter, Complex, Undeniably from the Dark Side, though there is still goodness deep down … we’re still talking about the drink right? 

 

  • 1 oz Amaro Lucano
  • 2 oz red wine
  • 0.8 oz tonic water
  • 0.5 oz sugar syrup

 

Mix the drink directly in the martini glass and serve with a slice of lemon and orange, a sprig of mint, fruits of the forest and ice.

Fill a large glass with ice. Pour G’Vine and top with tonic water.

Dodging First Order stormtroopers throughout Jakku, The Finalizer Star Destroyer, StarKiller Base, and Takodana is enough for any hero to want a strong drink.

 

 

Pour together into a shot glass.

Enigmatic, distinctive, no-nonsence.

 

 

Stir all ingredients. Strain. Serve over rocks, garnish orange peel.

The force is strong with this blue cocktail — and it’s definitely the drink you’re looking for.

 

 

Stir wet ingredients in stirring glass or Boston shaker. Double-strain into Martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist as preferred.

Sweet and kicks a lot of ass, just like our hero. Refreshing and light whose bubbles makes it feel it is also at one with the force.

 

  • 2 oz Partida Anejo
  • 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 0.5 oz agave nectar
  • 1 oz champagne

 

Build all ingredients except the champagne add ice shake and strain into a martini glass. Top with one ounce of champagne and garnish with a long lime twist.

So good… as legendary as the commander of the Resistance Starfighter Corps.

  • 2 oz. Rum Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva
  • 1/4 oz. simple syrup
  • ½ lime, cut into wedges
  • 5 large chunks fresh cut pineapple
  • 5 fresh mint leaves, mint sprig for garnish
  • Ice

 

In a cocktail shaker, muddle pineapple chunks, mint leaves, lime wedges and simple syrup for 30-35 seconds. Add ice and rum to shaker and shake vigorously. Strain in to chilled glass, garnish with pineapple wedge, lime wheel and mint spring.
